FILMMAKING IN SCHOOLS

Not content with simply showcasing films the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival offer's training for schools using mobile phones has the primary device for storytelling. We provide the tools, equipment and skills needed for the students to become fully fledged filmmakers.

Current problem:

Up until this point expensive technology has always been a barrier to entry for young filmmakers. Expensive equipment can hinder creativity in schools has many schools don't have the resources to kit out students to give them a full insight into the filmmaking process. This means that filmmaking as a career choice for a lot of students might not be discovered until third level education.

Our Solution:

To remedy this the Dublin Smartphone Film Festival offers the following solution.

  • Provide a step by step breakdown of the filmmaking process

  • Utilize a range of film facilitator's to cover all aspects of film

  • Hands on practical classes with professional equipment

  • Class structure that mirrors a the professional filmmaking process

  • Students working towards a goal of having their film shown at an International Film Festival
